國海院代表首登破冰船赴北極 完成2個月海科研究

歷經1年努力，國家海洋研究院與中山大學海洋科學系，榮獲德國阿弗瑞德．韋格納研究所審查通過，在今（2024）年8月由國海院派出台灣代表傅科憲，搭乘國際知名的破冰船極星號前往北緯80度以北的北冰洋海域，並抵達北緯90度的北極點，進行為期2個月的海洋科學探險和研究。不僅取得北冰洋相關的水文資料，也有助了解氣候變遷下的環境變遷，成為台灣海洋研究單位的創舉。
